Homemade Strawberry Shortcakes

In this session, we made homemade strawberry shortcakes together.

In this session, we celebrated Valentine’s Day by baking tender homemade biscuits topped with fresh whipped cream and sweet strawberries. Little chefs were encouraged to help with mixing, cutting, and assembling each beautiful shortcake.

 

What You’ll Need

Ingredient List

  • All Purpose Flour (at least 2.5 cups)

  • Baking Powder

  • Baking Soda 

  • Granulated Sugar

  • Salt

  • Unsalted Butter (1 stick)

  • Buttermilk (quart)

  • Pure Vanilla Extract

  • Heavy Cream (pint)

  • Fresh Strawberries (1 clamshell)

  • Mixing Bowls

  • Liquid Measuring Cup

  • Dry Measuring Cups

  • Sharp Knife 

  • Spatula
