Fresh Pasta with two sauces — pomodoro & carbonara

A hands-on culinary experience — the art of making fresh pasta.

As part of the Cardinal Elementary School auction, one winning bidder hosted a warm and engaging Italian-themed cooking evening for twelve fourth-grade moms — a hands-on culinary experience led by Whisk. The night brought us together through our shared love of fresh, simple food and a collective enthusiasm for learning something new.

Guests began by diving into the fundamentals of fresh pasta making. Starting with simple, high-quality ingredients — flour and eggs — they learned how to form and knead the dough, let it rest, and roll it out using a pasta maker.

Meanwhile, we explored two Italian classic sauces: a bright, slow-simmered pomodoro and a rich, creamy carbonara made with eggs, cheese, and pancetta.

The evening concluded with chcoloate olive cake, served with a dollop of fresh whipped cream. What an evening!
